Practical example

A surface contour style may deliberately use different layer colors for major and minor contours. The CTB then maps those colors to the intended paper lineweights. If either side is changed independently, the printed hierarchy can disappear.

Should Civil 3D production sheets be printed with Fit to Paper?

Not for scale-critical issue sheets. Build the Layout for the real paper size and output it at 100%; use Fit only for clearly identified reference/check prints.

Should I manually repair every generated sheet?

Usually no. If the same defect repeats, correct the shared view-frame, template, style or Page Setup source and regenerate/update systematically.

What should I test before a full publish?

At minimum, test the first, a middle and the last sheet plus one sheet for every paper size or special content type.
