What this calculator does
Choose A0-A4, ANSI A-E or ARCH A-E/E1, set orientation and margin, then see nominal dimensions, usable dimensions and maximum real-world coverage at scale.
Example
An ISO A1 sheet in landscape is 841 × 594 mm. With 10 mm margins on all sides, the usable rectangle becomes 821 × 574 mm.
How to use the result
- Use the actual paper supported by the selected PDF driver or physical plotter.
- Hardware margins may be asymmetric; use the Printable Area Calculator for exact left/right/top/bottom values.
- Use coverage as a planning limit, not as a guarantee that annotations and title-block content will fit well.

Does the calculator include A0 to A4?
Yes, along with ANSI A-E and ARCH A-E/E1.
Are the margins the same on every plotter?
No. This page uses an equal planning margin. Real hardware can have different margins on each side.
Can the tool tell me how much model area fits at 1:100?
Yes. Enter 100 as the scale denominator and the calculator reports the real-world coverage of the usable paper rectangle.
