Use the metric scale chart correctly
This chart is for ratio scales such as 1:10, 1:20, 1:25, 1:50, 1:100 and 1:200. Read 1:N as one paper unit representing N model units. If a 100 mm line is plotted at 1:50, it measures 2 mm on paper.
Best use cases
- checking a viewport scale before plotting;
- comparing nearby standard metric scales when a drawing does not fit;
- confirming that a measured PDF distance agrees with the intended ratio.
Validate the final output
The chart is a reference, not a substitute for a scale check. Plot or export at 100%, measure one known dimension in the PDF or hardcopy, and confirm that no printer-driver “Fit” option has changed the result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this as a substitute for checking the final PDF?
No. It is a reference; the final output still needs a known-dimension or scale check.
Can I print the chart itself?
Yes. It is formatted as a printable PDF reference.
Does the paper chart show printable area?
No. It shows nominal sheet dimensions because printable area depends on the selected driver/device.
