The BricsCAD Print dialog controls the device, paper, plot area, scale, orientation, plot styles and output file. This guide walks through those settings in the order a beginner should check them.
If BricsCAD Preview is correct but the final print is wrong, the most useful next step is to create a PDF baseline and determine whether the difference begins in file output, the operating-system driver or the physical device.
A BricsCAD Page Setup saves the settings that make a sheet repeatable: output device, paper, plot area, scale, plot style, orientation, offset and other plot options.
BricsCAD uses PC3 plotter configurations, but not exactly the same way AutoCAD users may expect. Bricsys documents that BricsCAD PC3 files apply to Windows system printers only.
In a normal BricsCAD paper-space workflow, the Layout represents the real sheet and should be plotted at 1:1. The viewport controls the drawing scale inside that sheet.
A missing BricsCAD plotter or PC3 can come from the operating-system printer, the PlotConfig file, platform limitations or an old Page Setup that points to a device no longer available.
BricsCAD can plot directly from Model Space, but the workflow is less forgiving than a Layout. You must deliberately choose the plot area, paper and plot scale.
BricsCAD’s printing workflow is not identical across operating systems. Windows can use system printers, while Bricsys documents macOS and Linux as PDF-first through Print As PDF.pc3.
Viewport scale controls how Model Space is shown through a BricsCAD Layout. Setting it correctly lets the sheet itself remain at 1:1 while different views use different engineering or architectural scales.
