Step by step — follow this in AutoCAD

Step 1 — Confirm the drawing uses STB

Where: Command line > PSTYLEMODE and/or PAGESETUP.

Do this: Verify the drawing is in named plot-style mode.

Check: STB is the correct workflow for this drawing.

Step 2 — Open the active Plot Styles folder

Where: Command line > STYLESMANAGER.

Do this: Locate the approved .stb file or install it in the folder AutoCAD opens.

Check: File availability is known.

Step 3 — Confirm the selected STB

Where: PAGESETUP > Modify > Plot Style Table.

Do this: Choose or verify the approved named plot-style table.

Check: The Layout uses the intended STB.

Step 4 — Compare PSTYLEMODE with the available table type

Where: Plot Style Table Editor / Layer Properties / object Properties.

Do this: Read PSTYLEMODE, interpret 1 as CTB/color-dependent and 0 as STB/named, then compare the Page Setup and layer/object behavior.

Check: The named style definition or assignment is correct.

Step 5 — Check representative objects/layers

Where: Layer Properties / Properties.

Do this: Compare Normal and one or more custom named styles.

Check: Assignments are visible and intentional.

Step 6 — Preview and test output

Where: Ctrl+P > Preview > PDF.

Do this: Check lineweight, color and screening hierarchy.

Check: The STB workflow is proven.

STB is named-style based

The plotted behavior is assigned by name rather than inferred from indexed color.

Normal is a meaningful default
