Lineweights are the printed thicknesses that make some lines look stronger than others. They can come from layers, individual objects or plot styles, so fixing a lineweight problem starts by finding which of those places is actually controlling the final output.
If your drawing looks right on screen but prints with the wrong colors or line thicknesses, plot styles are often the reason. CTB and STB files tell CAD how objects should look on the final PDF or paper sheet, while lineweights add the visible hierarchy that makes a technical drawing readable.
