How to Publish Multiple AutoCAD Layouts to PDF
Use PUBLISH when several Layouts need to become PDF files in one controlled batch. Standardize their Page Setups first, select only the required Layouts, choose PDF and verify paper and plot-style details before starting the job.
Start here — what you are going to do
Your goal: Publish several Layout tabs to PDF without plotting them one at a time.
Where to start: Open the drawing and make sure each production Layout has a valid Page Setup and paper size.
Beginner rule: PUBLISH automates repeated output; it does not fix inconsistent Page Setups. Preview representative Layouts first.
Step by step — follow this in AutoCAD
Step 1 — Save the drawing
Where: Ctrl+S.
Do this: Save current Layout and Page Setup changes.
Check: The publish list will use current data.
Step 2 — Select Layout tabs
Where: Bottom Layout tabs.
Do this: Ctrl-click the Layouts you want, or build the sheet list in PUBLISH.
Check: Only intended sheets are selected.
Step 3 — Start Publish
Where: Right-click selected tabs > Publish Selected Layouts, or Output > Publish.
Do this: Open the Publish dialog.
Check: Layouts appear in the list.
Step 4 — Check sheet order
Where: Publish sheet list.
Do this: Move sheets up or down as required.
Check: PDF order matches issue order.
Step 5 — Choose PDF
Where: Publish To.
Do this: Select PDF and the approved PDF preset.
Check: Output type is correct.
Step 6 — Inspect Page Setup details
Where: Page Setup column / Selected Sheet Details.
Do this: Confirm paper, scale and plot style for representative sheets.
Check: No odd Layout uses an old setup.
Step 7 — Choose packaging
Where: Publish Options.
Do this: Select multi-sheet or separate PDFs according to the project.
Check: Packaging is intentional.
Step 8 — Publish and review
Where: Publish > final PDF files.
Do this: Check page count, order and representative lineweights.
Check: The batch is complete.

Instead of opening 12 Layouts and pressing Plot 12 times, select the 12 production Layouts, verify their Page Setups in PUBLISH and create the package in one operation.
