AutoCAD ships with PDF PC3 presets designed for general documentation, high-quality printing, smallest file size, and web/mobile use. The preset affects resolution, layer information, hyperlinks, bookmarks and font/text handling.
If an AutoCAD PDF is not to scale, check the Layout viewport or Model Space plot scale, PDF page size and any Fit or Shrink setting used when printing the PDF. A correct viewport can still be ruined downstream.
The page order of a published PDF should be corrected in the AutoCAD Publish list before output, not manually rearranged after every issue. Move sheets until the list matches the official drawing index, then save the DSD when the package recurs.

Background publishing lets AutoCAD process a publish job while you return to drawing work. It is convenient for long jobs, but foreground publishing can be easier when diagnosing a failing sheet or measuring performance.
AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation) is one of AutoCAD’s predefined PDF PC3 presets. Its default vector quality is 1200 dpi and raster quality is 400 dpi; it includes PDF layer information by default.
A cropped AutoCAD PDF usually points to the wrong paper size, Plot Area, printable area or orientation. If the complete border is visible in Plot Preview but missing in the saved PDF, compare the PDF device and page dimensions.
When PUBLISH uses the wrong paper, CTB or device on one or more sheets, inspect the Page Setup column and the drawing’s named Page Setups before changing geometry. Batch output repeats the configuration assigned to each sheet.
