A named Page Setup is a reusable plotting preset. Give it a clear name such as A1 PDF MONO so another beginner can understand what it is for.

A short checklist catches the mistakes beginners make most often: wrong Layout, printer, paper, viewport scale, CTB, orientation, clipping or PDF Fit.

Center the Plot changes position, not scale. Use it after the correct device, paper, plot area and scale have already been chosen.

A PDF is a useful first output because it gives you a stable digital checkpoint before the printer driver and hardware are involved.

Your first AutoCAD print is easier if you ignore most advanced options and make one correct PDF from one Layout first.

Plot Offset controls where the selected plot area sits on the printable page. It should be adjusted only after paper, area and scale are correct.

Physical output adds the operating-system driver, queue, loaded media and hardware printable area after the CAD setup. Test the device outside AutoCAD first.

AutoCAD still says Plot, but for normal CAD output print and plot are essentially the same process. The destination can be PDF, a desktop printer or a large-format plotter.

A sideways sheet is usually an output setting problem, not a reason to rotate the drawing. Set the paper first, then choose Portrait or Landscape.
